His areas of focus with clients include time series forecasting for retail and banking, anti-money laundering, mortgage and credit risk, and natural language processing. Chandler also leads the Public Sector Customer-Facing Data Science practice and the A.I. for Good team at DataRobot, most recently executing projects in Africa to improve access to water in developing nations. Chandler has over 15 years of experience in analytics and data science, with previous roles as a consultant in machine learning with the Department of Defense and the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Ryan oversees the organization’s scientific research, analytics, data science, data governance, business development and philanthropy functions. UNOS runs the nations organ transplant system and through its relatively new virtual research center – called UNOS Labs – is using data science, behavioral research and technology innovations to find ways to get more people transplanted. Ryan leads the development of strategic services and innovations to help build a faster and more efficient system for organ transplantation. Ryan has a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of Tennessee and his PhD in Research and Evaluation Methodology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

              Zachary Brown, Lead Data Scientist, S&P Global  Zachary is currently a Lead Data Scientist at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where he leads a small team with a focus on modern natural language processing and its application to content classification and data extraction. Zachary received his PhD in Computational Physics from The College of William & Mary in 2014, where he calculated features of the strong force using simulations on high performance computing clusters. He has a passion for education, and has led and contributed to data science education initiatives at Capital One, Cloudera, and most recently at S&P Global. In his free time, he helps to organize the local Data Science Community Meetup and occasionally teaches college physics courses in Richmond, Virginia.

              May Casterline, Senior Solutions Architect, NVIDIA  Dr. May Casterline is a data scientist/image scientist/software developer with a background in satellite and airborne imaging systems. Her research interests include deep learning, hyperspectral and multispectral imaging, innovative applications of machine learning approaches to remote sensing data, multimodal data fusion, data workflow design, high performance computing applications, and creative software solutions to challenging geospatial problems. She holds a PhD and Bachelors of Science in Imaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, with a focus on remote sensing. In industry she has acted as a product owner, technical lead, lead developer, and image scientist on both research initiatives and development projects. As a Senior Solutions Architect at NVIDIA, Dr. Casterline works with both industry and government to help enable developers, engineers, data scientists and analysts integrate artificial intelligence and GPU-accelerated solutions into their workflows and products.

               ROBERT REYNOLDS, MANAGING DIRECTOR, MARKEL CORPORATION   Having spent many years in consulting (Deloitte & KPMG) and in  the retail industry (Circuit City Stores), Robert joined Markel Corporation in 2005 as an Internal Audit Manager focused on building IT audit capabilities within the organization. While audit was an interesting challenge Robert’s primary interest developed while working as a consultant developing pricing optimization analytics for wholesale distributors.  It was this previous experience that led Robert to join Markel's Data Warehouse effort in 2009 and then help start the Information Management Department in 2011.  Information Management (IM) strives to generate a positive ROI for Markel by continuously improving the Company's analytical focus, and information based decision making capabilities, thus supporting the profitable growth of Markel's business.  IM is a diverse team of professionals that work with UW, Marketing, and operations leadership on projects that are focused on improving profitability, improving metrics and measures, or refining growth opportunities..
